On the Move: Cato Institute Names DiLorenzo CMO

The Cato Institute, a public policy think tank, appoints Stacey DiLorenzo as its inaugural CMO. DiLorenzo joins Cato after serving nearly 13 years as the executive dean of external relations at George Washington University’s Milken Institute School of Public Health, leading the school’s strategic communications, digital marketing strategy, media relations and events teams. At Cato, she will work to shape the Institute’s brand identity, expanding its digital footprint and cultivating strategic partnerships, with an eye toward advancing its principles of individual liberty, limited government, free markets, and peace. “Her extensive background driving communications, media, branding and marketing positions her perfectly to lead these teams,” Cato Institute president and CEO Peter Goettler.

Siegel+Gale, a global brand experience firm that is part of Omnicom, appoints Dory Ellis Garfinkle as CMO. Garfinkle was most recently director of marketing for the transit, bikes and scooters division at Lyft. Before that, she served as senior lead of global brand experience at innovation and design company IDEO. “Dory shares the Siegel+Gale commitment to simplicity and understands the role that experiences play in shaping today’s leading brands. Her deep expertise across traditional and emerging digital channels made her an obvious choice for this prominent role in our organization,” said Howard Belk, co-CEO and chief creative officer of Siegel+Gale.

TBA Worldwide, a collective of advertising agencies and specialty marketing firms, names Courtney Olbrich chief growth officer. Olbrich joins TBAWW from Brandon, a company within the TBAWW collective, where she most recently served as director of media, analytics and e-commerce. As CGO, Olbrich will be responsible for driving growth across TBAWW agencies. She will oversee the agencies' marketing and business development efforts with a focus on optimizing content marketing to enhance brand engagement and increase website traffic. "Courtney has been instrumental in Brandon's significant growth during her time here," said Scott Brandon, CEO of TBA Worldwide. “Her experience in selling integrated media, e-commerce and analytics solutions that deliver high ROI for clients has taken our media team to the next level.”

Holland & Hart LLP hires Troy Lyons as senior director of federal affairs, based in its Washington, DC office. Lyons was most recently VP, government affairs at the American Exploration & Production, a national trade association that represents oil and natural gas companies. He was previously a partner at lobbying firm Massie Partners, an administrator at the EPA and manager, federal government affairs at Hess Corporation. In his new post, he leverages relationships with bipartisan federal government stakeholders to help clients navigate legislative and regulatory challenges. “With over two decades of federal-level experience working on both sides of the aisle with Congress and the executive branch and with regulatory agencies, he will bring incredible value to firm clients, particularly in the energy industry,” said Holland & Hart partner and head of federal affairs Andrew Wheeler.
